When I delete a file, it bypasses the recycle bin and is deleted permanantly.
I've made sure the recycle bin's "Don't move files to the recycle bin" option is unchecked and it has a maximum size of 25,122MB
Presumably I've changed something at some point...

Other time a file will skip the recycle bin is when you delete of a network drive, or a non-NTFS.

Hi,
is there anyway in C# (interop maybe) to delete a specific file in the recycle bin permanently?
While searching on the internet I only found ways to delete TO the recycle bin not FROM. I also don't want to empty the whole bin, just one specific file...

Why don't fonts deleted from c:\windows\fonts go to Recycle Bin? When i delete fonts from the C:\windows\fonts, it asks, do u want to delete the fonts to Recycle Bin. When i click yes, it doesn't go to Recycle Bin. I didn't do any settings in Recycle ...

Check it by following this way: right click....
There must be different setting for C drive interdependently.
Avijit is wrong, when you delete any file from the hard disk it should go to recycle bin if the file size is less than recycle bin.

When I delete even the smallest of files on windows xp the operation takes 3-10 minutes to complete.
I have read this can happen when the recycle bin has alot of items in it, and XP has to iterate through all the files. So I set the space usage to 1%,...

Ctrl + Shift while dragging item(s): Create shortcut a CD is loading: Bypass AutoPlay.

Are you saying that after you empty the Recycle Bin, it still contains
files?
"Deleting" a file doesn't actually remove it from the disk; it is simply
moved to a special kind of folder, the Recycle Bin.
