I'm curious as to how much people in the US pay in taxes as compared to people in Canada and the UK. If you can also tell me what those taxes are actually for, it would be greatly appreciated. I bring this up because every time I'm talking to my mom about the health care situation and that other countries have a better system, she brings up the taxes. I'd just like to be able to throw out numbers, and I want a personal element to this rather than merely stats I find online. source
