Why does Nick Markakis continue to hit 3rd? I say knowing full well that he had a homer and a couple more hits the other night. I actually think he's about to go on a hot streak. The guy is not a number 3 hitter though, and we have better options. Why does he keep hitting 3rd. My optimized lineup... Markakis I know that everyone goes through slumps at the plate but from the games I've watched Markakis appears to make some really poor choices at the plate. In particular I've seen him swing at a lot of breaking balls in the dirt on 0 and 2 and 1 and 2 counts...
