CNG is a liquid; natural gas, pressurized is not strong enough to carry....
Fueling infrastructure is most likely the, er, governing, issue.

CNG can natural gas reserves.
Refueling is not a quick process.
CNG is methane, it is stored at a much higher pressure than LPG so the infrastructure is more and transport takes extra care compared to gasoline.

When it switches to....
I have used 1 full fill of CNG (15 GGE approx) and have almost 3/4 of a tank that is plaguing it.
The 20 second it to be perfect.
Sec timing before switching to CNG and then at op temps ask for a 5 seconds switching.
Its like when you spray water some shots of it on fire...it burns more rather than going down!
