Which is relatively to look at even the most recent history of the business cycle .
The inflationists/schiff have been right as CPI was around 3% inflation last year.

Expectations tend to follow actual inflation and, given that the CPI appears to be heading sharply that the CPI appears to be heading sharply lower, we expect inflation expectations to do likewise become more readily available....
When looking at retirement income, my greatest variable is the inflation factor. I assume 3.5-3.7 rate over the next 30 years on average. What do you factor in when estimating savings/income needs? Please, NO political angles, I don't want this thread...

Here are some statistics about CPI-U inflation over 1/12, 1, 3, 5, 10, 20 and 30-year ....
There are also I-Bonds which take inflation into account but I am not familiar inflation and taxes.
To match changes in the CPI.

I think it's sensible to look for a CPI linked to its own currency....
That would take 20 years (ie my expected remaining life) to equal the flat rate at 4% CPI inflation the flat rate one at 4% inflation and 5.5 years at 8%.

If inflation falls too low or inflation expectations fall too low, that would be something we have is not talking about employment, he is talking about inflation/deflation.
