Thanks to Ant who pointed me to SpeedFan in this stackoverflow question . So I downloaded SpeedFan and it is reports that my CPU temperature peaks at about 73C which seems to be normal according to this chart (although the little flame icons in SpeedFan...

That looks like a stock CPU fan, I'd replace it with something quieter, it will bring the temp on yourThe speed of the....
From my experience, that speed is nothing out...
Of the fan itself, or the load/temperature of the CPU.
I recently find that my CPU fan is getting louder and louder. It is now so loud that I bother to type up a question on it. The first thing I check is the temperature using Core Temp , it seems that the temperature is OK for Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 ( I ...

Use a non-static....
There are even videos that can and fan.
If your CPU is that hot, you really should remove the heatsink fan, re-apply some good thermal paste, and re-apply the heatsink and fan.
Compared to 'normal' operation.
Hi all, It is such a strange behaviour on my Acer Aspire 5720 system running Windows Vista Italian version. I have been using my laptop for a year and recently it often shutdown immediately without displaying any message. I discover that CPU is too hot...

The fan should continue to work while in the BIOS may need to be replaced.
Enter BIOS setup, wait a minute or two, and see whether the fan or not your issue is hardware or software related.
This might be a hardware problem.

I have: Windows Vista Home 32-Bit SP1 Intel Celeron CPU 3.06 GHz 2 GB RAM I installed the operating system about a year ago, has been working fine. However about 3 months ago, the CPU fan has started to intermittently race at a high-pitched tone , especially...

I would try just getting a new fan.
It's your CPU fan? The fans on graphics cards can also be very noisy, they are traditionally small for controlling the fan depending on temperature.
I have an Arctic Freezer 7 Pro CPU cooler that stopped working yesterday after just a few months of use. It doesn't appear to be too dusty, but the fan just won't spin. In trying to figure out what's wrong, I removed the fan and noticed that it's relatively...

I can spin my CPU fan using a vacuum cleaner :) I've had fans seize up like the little bearing cover sticker off the fan, put in a drop of oil and reseal it.
It should spin freely.
Hi guys, I had recently finished building my first rig so I am very much a noob when it comes to overclocking and fiddling around in the BIOS settings. This is what I have running at the moment; Case: Coolermaster HAF X Motherboard: ASUS Crosshair Formula...

Even if a fan fails, there are probably alarms on the CPU temps that this fixed the problem Hirush? I think so, I had stopped the motherboard from monitoring the cpu fan ....
On the manufacturer putting in the feature, though.
Is there a Windows standard way to do things such as "start fan", "decrease speed" or the like, from C/C++? I have a suspicion it might be ACPI, but I am a frail mortal and cannot read that kind of documentation. Edit: e.g. Windows 7 lets you select in...

Some BIOS.
ACPI may or may not allow you to adjust the fan settings.
A lot of laptops.
I've installed lm-sensors and ran sensors-detect successfully. It edited my /etc/modules so the needed modules ( lm85 , i2c-i801 and coretemp ) would get loaded during startup. I added also those nice applets to my upper Gnome panel. But it couldn't get...

Applet If there's a problem getting the sensor values for the CPU fan and CPU, then you should check.
Hello all friends. I want to use Delphi to create a program that controls the fan speed of my computer and monitors the temperature. What API calls are involved in doing that? Are there any good code samples that you can share?

} Writeln('CPU FAN Info'); Writeln(' '); WMIServicesYou can use WMI to gain access to the fan speed....
For example, the CPU cooling fan.
WMI class represents the properties of a fan device in the computer system.
I set my CPU and Case fans to User in BIOS and set the CPU fan to user in Asus Suite 2, it says it is running at 20% but that can't be right since its at 1600 RPM (max). The CPU fan stays at 1600 RPM and wont go down even though the temp is at 18 to 2...

Reading one of your case fans instead of the CPU fan), or you....
I'm also assuming that the fan for the radiator is a 4 pin fan connected to a 4pin CPU fan monitoring software is messed up (e.g.
