What's the difference between a cable television network like HBO and a commercial broadcasting like CBS? I have read wikipedia articles about these but can't get it, does cable television available via sattelite or that's something else?

The only solution (i know of) is to use different cables Idk.
It's actually designed to be like that (anti-piracy or some such gubbins.)
Trying to play DVDs through an RGB scart will give you the green tinge .

On consumer equipment, there is *NO* difference between a $5 cable and a $150 dollar cable.
It's a digital signal, so unless you have an unusual (in-wall or separated) setup, any HDMI cable in the length you need.
