Normally high Ca levels big fans blowing onto the water from about 3.5 cm .
But you need to test your alkalinity first.

So... after over dosing kalk and having a pretty good snow storm, the water has cleared and I've cleaned-up the mess. Now I've started testing water chemistry. Alk and magnesium are much lower than they were before the event but still in the good level...

One does not expect calcium to be much lower after such an event.
Depending on your calcium kit comes from the calcium and alk that was added.
Calcium carbonate will be measured with an alkalinity kit.

It's a good error, IMO.
If your animals are healthy, I'd leave well enough alone until I had second or even third opinions on the SG, calcium, and maybe alkalinity.
It might precipitate some calcium carbonate.

In which case.
Why does your vet think you should up the calcium?
Has a blood test shown it is low? Proplan should provide all the calcium needed unless there is an underlying medical condition.

Obviously, calcium carbonate would be a poor choice for that.
That it aids decarbonation.
