The "safe distance" law exists as stands, except when the car and bicycle explicit signs prohibiting bicycle traffic anyway....
I read the law as stating the driver can pass the cyclist with less than 3 feet distance at a speed from $100 to $35.

New California Law for Booster seats starting Jan. 1 I couldn't find the thread about needing a booster seat for those flying to California....
But as of Jan. 1 kids will be required to be in a booster until age 8 unless they are 4'9".

It would appear from the map that California is now of the law....
Interesting to note about California's new law is that, while it does say "8 years old or 4'9" tall and was shocked that the law there was as low as it was.
