The commercial seatpost shims have a lip the seatpost sees a
problematic stress riser, the soft aluminum shim squishes into a
flared shape to keep them from falling....

I am trying to get a new seatpost clamp for my 04 Marin Attack Trail..Ive looked online to try and find a size but I cant seem to find it..I call price point and they tell me that my seatpost clamp is 30.9....and my seatpost is 30..Ive been looking for...

Googling it was the first thing I did...otherwise I wouldnt have asked the post..but there seems to be no seatpost clamp that size...the next size up is 31.8....that was the question I was asking..is it ok to get that....

I'm sure you get what you pay for but d mn it's hard to drop 300 bucks on a friggin seatpost are 275-400, and post sizes....
They just don't show bucks.
Information, I called Fezzari and they do have the 30,9 version of the seatpost.

Most pre-made shims are 3-4" long, you can
do the same with thin....
Shims look like:

You just make the shim long.
To use a seatpost shim to enlarge the diameter of the post at
the clamp.

I developed a creaking/squeaking noise on the bike and i contacted sc and the folks there were awesome but at the end of the day the linkages,etc. that were possible suspects weren't the cause of the noise. It turned out to be the rear mounting point ...

80% of the problem was pulling out the seatpost-seize...lead (?), or you can do it w/ stainless steel like this: STAINLESS STEEL SHIMS FOR NEEDLE resonating from some other location....
E I was having a lot of creaking on my BLT .

Well. Finally. If you've heard my whining over the last year, I bought new shoes and never was able to get the cleats quite right. Back up. I bought my bike in 2008 after not riding for 20 years, so since I was 18, and I've had a lot of trouble with fittings...

Anyway, today....
Fixed in 2007, but it dates back to 1990.
My right knee has a lot of degeneration and weakness because of a torn ACL, cartilage, and meniscus .
Sounds most hopeful though! I think so Rogue.

Is a really nice frame and no seatpost that will fit, and you can't really shim because of the set screw potentially hooked, a few warnings if it's a Vitus:
There is no traditional seatpost binder bolt (aluminum lug would crack).....
