Garmin have released 5.80 to replace 5.70 which was issued in early November 2011.
Changes from version 5.70 to version 5.80:
Updated to comply with France Safety Camera decree.
Fixed an error that caused a restart message to frequently appear on nuvi...

I have just recently bought a Nuvi 1490LMT from Halfords. Highly recommended and backed up with good user reviews from various sources. Amazon, CNET, trustedreviews etc. Sadly nothing on here?? I did search,honest!

The Ash10 Camera Manager program can be set so you only get a warning if you are over-speed.
In fact, I fairly).
With my nuvi, I disabled the Garmin camera alerts to avoid the double warnings.

What precisely is this Safety Camera decree?
I see that on my latest European safety camera update it now talks of France "Dangerous Zones". Can anyone tell me what this does for me?

As I understand it it's now illegal for devices to warn of speed camera locations, but they can warn drivers when they are entering a 'danger zone', which may (or may not) have a speed camera to turn off the speed ....
