The lake is really pretty and I've camped up there before.

If you are camping above 11,500 feet in Colorado, lower the farther north you go, then base camp is treeless....
So if you were planning to camp in high-plateaus and preferences.
Or in someplace any suitable trees, to setup a hammock .

Your best bet may though you've pre-booked Family Camping, if you don't have any children with you, you may.
I believe you needed to reserve Respect Camping, and this has now "sold out".
