Ok well it's not really canned, it's in one of those blue packages and it's herb flavored tuna or something. Do you think it's safe to eat?

I eat this often....
Plate your tuna pancake up with some avocado and maybe some tomato slices and there you go.
Mix canned tuna, chopped onion, celery, your choice of seasoning and a couple raw eggs then dump and brown the other side.

Why is canned tuna one of the cheapest fish you can buy, yet fresh is one of the most expensive?
It makes no sense to me, where is the "low quality" fresh tuna that they put in cans?
My main question though is what is the cheapest leanest fish you can...

I opened a can for lunch drained off the water and when i got the tuna out of the can, it was a layer of white sticky ucky stuff on the bottom of the can. TMI but the consistency of someone who blows the nose.

In Oregon, every three years we the public have the opportunity to propose changes to the SPORTFISHING regulations (not commercial regs). Proposals adopted this year would go into effect in 2013.
Something that comes up on this board each tuna season ...

Its a safety issue and there are very few people who can sit on the deck cleaning a tuna and be able filets among the the tuna carks.

My biggest complaint 5 oz.
I love tuna, and eat about 6 cans a week.
