Where's the best place to get canning jars in Round Rock or north Austin? I just bought a pressure canner and need to get some jars so I can try the puppy out.

We are cleaning out my husband's parent's farm/house and I came across several boxes of canning jars. Some of the jars are empty but some of the jars still have veggies in them. There is no way of knowing how old the processed food is but I am guessing...

Canning jars can be expensive when your doing big batches.

Thoughts about storing the jars with sheets of bubble wrap between them in case of a earthquake came to mind tonight.
Anybody else have ideas or concerns (due to storage space, breakage, etc) about storing your jars and lids?

This keeps light from getting to the jars its hell if you are looking for something and....
My personal preference is to use the box that I got my jars in, keeping the internal cardboard seperators in.
Plenty of bubble wrap and padding.

Had more jars not sealing too, when canning meat and when canning tomatoes.

Does anyone know what a good stock-up price is on canning supplies? I'm thinking jars (all sizes, wide mouth prefered), seals, and pectin. I guess pickling salt would also go in there, but I've never seen a sale/coupon for that.

Home canned goods but have no iterest in canning so I get the jars (back sometimes since I'm the one awesome deals on jars.
