I'm wondering where I can get half gallon or gallon ball jars and plastic lids, I did a search at ball.com and found only canning as in can products and no glass jars there, so now I don't know where to find their glass products, can anyone help? Thanks...

Ball a gallon jar in.
Try doing a general search for glass canning jars too in your browser.
Have lids on there.

You will typically find that vegetables get canned in pint or quart jars and sweet spreads in to the jar; the curved jars tend to keep jam/jelly stuck under the curved area.

Long peppers in oil..jars leaked from the lid ....
i did long hots in canola oil and garlic and they all leaked 2 weeks after i did them. i roasted the peppers,placed them in the jar, filled it with oil added the garlic and boiled the jars for 10 min....

My wife canned some Jalapeno Peppers but they came out almost like mush.
How do you/they can so that you still have the texture of the Pepper?

I have been canning the 50/50 water/vinegar ....

I'm getting into canning foods will not have a high volume of low-acid meats or vegetables that need sufficient.
It just won't be energy efficient.
You can process one jar in a canner if you want/need to.

Over filling your jars....the product inside swells in the canning....each time....
Heating too of the jars, which may crack.
That is why the bottoms usually break out first.
Of the jars are the weakest area of the jar.
