Well I have essentially gutted my JTM45. Removed all the tube sockets turret board ect. All that is left is new sockets and the pots as well as the big blue caps.
Anyone have a guide or a basic writeup for the alternative grounding scheme as I would really...

Forming filter caps...
... isn't also a bad things for new caps and enhances their physically parameters, also when they've been (quick-) formed at the manufacturer.
But for new caps, which have been stocked on the shelf for more than 5 years it's obligation...

BTW: Also when an amp hasn't been in use for longer than six months, you should form the caps diminished!

I had to replace the fuse holder on a Scott 222C and when I removed the bottom cover I found these (pictured below). Scary!
Next thought was....Crap! Wonder if the transformers are any good? Well, I went ahead and replaced all eight couplers, the bridge...

I'm working on a Fisher 500 for an acquaintance (hi Ed!). Already fixed the power switch, dial cord, and capacitor hum. All electrolytics replaced and a few other caps too. She sounds good, but the volume doesn't get very high. Turned up all the way only...

LarryThis a mono 500 receiver? Or is it a 500-B or 500-C? It could be a late run 500C .
However, the rest of the wax caps will require replacement.

Today I decided to throw my dog a bone and it happened to take a funny bounce and hit the 500B! N
So one of the front gold knob caps fell off (balance knob far left). It looks to have originally been superglue'd on? What would you recommend for my repair...

Then I put is also good if you need to remove them... .
I put it only on the knob, then press the brass cap on.
Put some rubber cement on.
Take the knob off and put it so the brass cap will be pressing down on it.
I use Elmer's rubber cement.
