I never take the car charger out from my car, there is not any problem ....
But what is for sure though, is that if the charger was made in a way thats prone to failure, the heat cycling will not help it.

It's brilliant, comes in very handy on long trips if your car only has the one socket but they charge everything else I have from the USB and I use a separate USB charger in one way as a receipt.

For holidays etc i'd like to see if I can find a suitable in car charger for the Hannspad, but search of ebay seems to throw up a blank, anyone found one suitable? it seems to need a 12v positive output

Finding a car charger for the Asus eee 1000 or 900 is way easier.
Is to get a 12V to 240V converter for the car and then plug in your Hannspad mains charger one stands out for a millimeter.
