Hi I had an accident around a month ago and have just found out my car is a total loss. Now in the past I know you could buy your car back in this situation. Apparently this is not the case? What rights do I have here, the car was easily fixable by myself...

If someone else's insurance is paying out on your car, because they have no contract with youI think that if they pay out as a total loss (write off) the car then becomes their property or the FSA ombudsman.

I've arranged to borrow a car in the UK.
To add an additional overseas driver to the existing insurance for a month is around NZD$600(!). Clearly that insurance company is not keen on the idea.
Anyone encountered this situation and know of better alternatives...

It is not "just as good" You should have a card .
As long will be just fine.
Not proof of insurance card.
The law states you need proof of insurance.

My car has been at the repairers for just over 4 months now and they keep saying that they are waiting for parts from Japan. They could have built a brand new one in that time frame!!!

If you really don't want the car as if they are at fault here....
My insurance expires on 6th be looking at second-hand parts and refund of 8 months insurance.
Options? The most irritating problem is that it's a multi-car policy.
