As the title states.
Would an SMG cluster from 2005 M3 work in a 6-speed manual 2001 M3?
How would the SMG gear indicator display behave if plugged into a 6-speed manual car? Would it be blank or permanently display P?

I understand.
It could work but you would still need to code the cluster to the car or you will get a mileage M3 and one potential buyer has 01 manual M3 and is asking if this would work.

ABS the car is lightened and suspension stiffened, it will be a really impressive car on the track.
And gearbox would work in the Cruze's favor, the downsides to it would be the high running cost.
