If you are going to store credit card information you really need violate Payment Card Industry rules....
Basically avoid by all means taking the responsiblity to save the CC details on your side, however you are required to implement.

The card detailsyes I believe covering your cards with tin foil stop your card from being skimmed.
No you cannot do anything to stop it happening.
