I've read things going both ways, saying 1 box/cat is required, while others talk about 2 cats sharing one box.
We're getting a new kitten on Saturday and already have another box, but I can't think of where in our house to put it

Has your cat ever slept in the litter box?
My indoor cat has done that a few times, not sure what that means. She is getting old, but she will sleep in the litter box even if it is dirty.. it is nasty!

I recently took over the care for my family pet from my parents so I can be assured she is cared for correctly. The major problem is she will not pee in her litter box... always directly in front of it. I thought maybe she couldn't it so i made it more...

Having regular size litter box will allow the cat to have more of her own spacePersonally, I wouldn't try to change a 23 YO cat; I'd use disposable pee pads or newspapers around the doorway to the box....
