Dear kitty is 18.
She has had a few health issues, cancerous tumor removed from tail, hyperthyroidism, diabetes and now arthritis.
She gets very easily stressed about going to the vets, and any time she is boarded.
We had to board her this weekend past...

Do avian vets need to go through the same training like an ordinary vet (ie cats, dogs) before specializing? or do they study exclusively birds?

I have a borderline long-haired cat that will occasionally (once or twice a week, maybe) pee on his own feet in the litter box. I think he's peeing on himself, anyway, although I suppose it's possible he's peeing and then stepping immediately in his own...

This is probably one of those questions that is so simple but I just want to clarify before I start the process with my cat next week.
I know the health certificate has to be signed by a USDA vet and that kick starts the 4 month period in which it's okay...

My USDA certified vet signed the 3rd country certificate required by DEFRA last June, and filled out the USDA certificate....
USDA has an official 'state vet'; they deal with a lot of paperwork regarding movement of animals and other matters.

I phoned the vet and was able to get an appointment for 1 hour from now.
Eat (like wet cat food) you could also search for another vet more of an emergency vet to get her.
