Guest, funeral guest, mourner the people who come to a funeral....
I don't know a single definition of patron that would fit .
I might also use mourner.

Now, if only we can get Landover Baptist Church to join the Branch BenPhelpsians we could have all the nuts in one basket... .
And why am I not surprised? Moreover, I am thinking that (Rev) Ben Phelps would have been picketing the Crucifixion .

After attending a funeral Mass today and seeing the Priest in white vestments I wonder what the most common colour of vestment seems to be at funeral Masses.
I would want black vestments and I'm curious to see if anyone's parish uses black vestments.

The priest uses black.
In the Byzantine Rite a funeral is more of a day of penance asking.
Red is for a Martyr.
EF parish is appropriate.
A Catholic funeral doesn't make someone go to heaven.

At Catholic funerals when people--all at once--drop flowers onto a
casket in a ditch, do they bring the flowers to funeral, or are they
