What are the group's thoughts on getting a six cavity mold as opposed to two 2 cavity molds? I have read that using two molds will keep them from getting too hot. Is this a better reason to go that route as opposed to a six cavity or does it really matter...

It in a 6 cavity I was stuck using 3 double cavity molds.

So basically I opened up the cavity of my Epi Les Paul Classic and noticed the cavity was painted black. I know that if the cavity is painted black on a Gibson it is usually a fake and I'm curious if it's just an Epiphone thing or whether I have a fake...

My ESP standard has black paint in the battery cavity.
It makes sense that epiphone would do the same.

I've also got 12 double and single cavity Lee molds and no pitting.
And none of them have any pitting.
And 22 cal.

I've got 4 Lee six cavity molds in 45 cal.
From my experience.

So how fast do you fill the cavity of your molds? What difference does filling slower or faster make? Particularly with a 9mm mold. Using a 4 cavity 135gr mold if that matters, which I know it does.
I am thinking I am filling the mold too fast. But I ...

Going from cavity to cavity I try not to hurry things....
Bullets of 300+ gr I pour each mold cavity, then it's as fast as the molten metal temperature allows.
Into the cavity as quick as possible, especially with larger bullets.

Hi folks,
Decided today was the day for attacking my strat with the copper!
Do I have to remove the pg fully (wires and all) to cover the cavities?
Also, should I shield the trem cavity?
My progress so far...
Will post finished results. Thanks.

I have gotten permission from Mihec to rerun the 432640 mold, but this time in a 4 cavity brass cramer style hollowpoint. This has been run before in a two cavity, but now we can get it in a 4 cavity, which will make it about perfect! This has got to ...

Thanks for running this...MIHEC makes super moulds.
I am sure that will work better when set to tinker with on the lathe at work.
Asked Mihec for an extra set of pins that make a smaller cavity.

I was thinking of using this stuff in the cavity
