Hi im trying to fix a new modern ceiling light....the hole which the old one has left is too big, thus the only way i can fix the bracket leaves a gap around the light. any ideas?

A modern chrome flush light, a ceiling rose wouldnt fit You'll need to fill the hole with a piecehi only way m8y is to go down to bandq and get a ceiling rose fairly cheap and easy to install its to the batten, fill and paint around....
Our ceiling light in our front room has stopped working we tried to change the bulb and that made no difference what else can we check?

Switch off electric, check the connections at the light fitting for tightness, also check.
Because I live in Texas, and my pool room is upstairs, a ceiling fan is a necessity. It also has a lighting kit that is lighting the table...not optimal. How can I hang decent lighting above the table? I can certainly remove the fan, but it'll hurt. Dan...

In that case you can get a 4 bulb light pool room is upstairs,....
Give it up now and save yourself some heartache if your ceiling is high enough hang the light the light move unless you have the fan pulling the air up.

Don't rely on the ceiling material alone to be acessable.
You can use the new hole cut out piece to repair the existing hole .
These can all be done with no other holes in the ceiling.

The blue wire on the fan is the light on the bottom and the black is the fan motor, the red wire will be the hot from the light ....

The light bulbs have blown....
I did not have this problem.
It never popped the breaker before although the results to the light was the same believe the problem lies in the movement of the box for the ceiling fan.
It senses a short.

To fish new 14-2 wire through the walls ceilings and so on, about the ceiling light I haven't wire wiring? looks like theres 3 circuits coming off this light fixure this is knob and tube.
