Is it legal for me to tether my laptop to my verizon droidx? I seen several apps that make this possible (using pdanet and bt connection) but is it legal? I have their unlimited dAta, can they tell your tethered?

This is arguably the best tethering software since it doesn't use the same tethering ports other tethering apps or rooted phones use which is a easy way for the different cell phone carriers to notice.

Also just to add, I tried editing /etc/resolv.conf to include the nameserver but it just changes... .
Ifconfig doesn't seem to have any options that affect dns servers .
Ifconfig should change that per use.
My guess is to use the correct IP address of opendns .

Does your company pay for your cell phone? if so, and wifi tether is that critical, have them pony though I have unlimited data.

At the publicized description of Verizon's "network optimization" crap and it's not supposed to apply happen on "congested" cell sites I have no doubt that it happens regardless of the traffic going thru a cell site.
