When changing gears 1 to 2nd It is hard to change with clutch fully down.

It won't hurt the bearings or gear faces, but it lubricates the sliding surfaces less (ie the synchros), giving them more grip and....
But your other fluid.
Oil won't make it harder to change gears, if anything it will make it easier.

Being in too low or high a gear means a fast twist of the throttle.
As far as gearing, just be sure you are in a gear that will allow you to get moving right now if the need arises.
And just be aware.

I recommend that you make a backup of your Player Data either on a USB or on Cloud storage .
Sorry but there is no way to get your level back to 45 .
