The VCR works on the old channel 0 (ie not AV1 = DVD player or AV2 = freesat).....
Analogue channels but if I am watching the VCR it seems to need the coaxial cable - without the coaxial cable = fuzz (ie nothing, no picture) .

If your video has Virgin box doesn....
Select which channel/button you want the VCR to be tuned to on your TV on that channel, then press OK on the TV to select/confirm that button for the VCR.
Virgin box is likely to recognise.

You can still retain the VCR to playback your existing tapeYour VCR analogue tuner....
So I would advise ditching the VCR as a recording two channels at the same time.
No way to independently receive the digital channels.

You could assign 0045 to the VCR button.

So, you need to give the VCR explicit permission to be able to change channels by itself....
The assumption was: If you are using the VCR's tuner to watch a program, you don't want your viewing interrupted by a scheduled recording.
