I think Stackoverflow is a great resource for programmers, but a lot of times free discussion and experimentation help find answers as quickly. I personally used Slicehost's forums a lot for setting up a Linux as a server.

As far as I can tell THIS IS PERMANENT . I doubt anything short of GM intervention will solve this shit.
basically all you do is /ban [channelnumber] [playername]
this will ban them from that channel permanently. doesnt work SOMETIMES in custom channels...
