Check to see.
Others have a button on the frame where the doors seal against .
See if you have one.
Some ice makers have a arm where the ice drops out that you can move to turn the ice maker off.

Just wondering if anyone else has the same problem. My friend and i just bought 2 brand new Ice 55s. We took them out yesterday and neither of use could read through the ice. I pulled out the vex fl-18 and in the same spot as the birds it read through...

I did pour water....
I have to make sure I dump some water on the spot I am reading and sometimes, if the ice is "milky' I need to turn up the gain quite a bit setting can get easily confused.
I use mine to read throught the ice all the time.
