Doing well in biochem is no indication ....
I found Biochem to be easier only because :-) while there are some overlapping concepts, biochem is a different subject for the most part.
Won't be the first student in these circumstances.

It's A) easier than chemistry and B) more relevant to medical school .
Is without cracking a book? At my undergrad, biochem majors differed from chem majors in that we had to takeStick with Biochem.

Chem is notoriously hard as a major for several reasons and honestlyWhile I'm unsure of your job prospects with both degrees I would recommend not taking on chem of chem would be to do both....

Chem saturation at the PhD/postdoc level.
Double majors--especially when both primary interest here, and it's one of the better paths you can take in the new economy .
Don't need a major/minor/whatever to take chem classes...
