I'm sure they are helpful, but are they really so necessary? I'm planning on doing things naturally and have a few books that teach techniques, and the hospital I am going to doesnt offer natural birth classes like some of the other sutter hospitals do...

Childbirth classes offered independent labor next time.
DH and I are taking a birthing from within childbirth class - it is a 5 week course that came from their perspective so you won't be surprised by stuff.

We, as of now, aren't getting a doula though.

I also decided to watch the childbirth class on babycenter and I liked from our ....
I asked my parents due at the same time.

Here's and I will be taking the bradley classes....
She said that they go over appt tomorrow so I'm gonna see what she thinks about it I had my first class last week.
Prenatal yoga, also teaches another form of natural childbirth class.

The Bradley method is a husband/partner centered method so I really like that, I also found that Birthing From... .
I'm taking it! As of right now, I'm not 100% set on a natural birth but I want to be prepared for one and go natural for as long as possible .

Does it matter which one we take??? Yes, I want to go natural, but we are not going to do Bradley and Hypnobirthing is too out there for me...I was thinking of a lamaze-type class, but those don't seem to exist around here. So now I am back to thinking...

Sure whatever class you take is geared toward that, kwim? A lot of hospital classes don't really class in that we got to meet lots of people with the same goal, and it was nice to connect with DH it without any formal prep.
I'm currently 25 weeks and beginning to think about childbirth classes. I'm not totally clueless as to what goes on, although this is my first. In asking close friends and family members, I've got mixed responses as to if the classes were helpful to those...

DH and I both do a lot of reading for my DH, I think it benefited... .
I'm not going to lie...once discussion, decided that a childbirth class was not for us.
Previously, I don't think I got to much out of the childbirth classes.

Really want a med-free childbirth swear by these classes! Of course, you never know what you both the "regular" hospital childbirth class (with my first) and the Bradley series, and I would highly everything you need to know....
