Found this online and it's actually pretty good. Just make sure you put in only half the recipe first until you get it to the degree of spiciness you like. (I don't like it *really* spicy) I think I'll be sticking with this from now on.... Homemade Taco...

Thanks all I use extra sharp paprika or med....
Otherwise, I tend to use spices are - it's time to replace them! THAT being said, I don't use chili powder - I use chile.
How old was your chili powder? Definitely check the age of your spices .

And the only thing I would consider salty and chili are these green/red chilis in soya sauce typical to clarify, realizing people call things by different names: chili peppers --> not so salty chili sauce things by different....
