Chinese Army

If you want peace you must prepare for war, every nation wants to be respected and recognized like the United States through rivaling the States both militarily and economically. Similarly, the United States does not want to be rivaled, they want to maintain there position as the global economic and military superpower. Just look at western history, the Roman empire, the Byzantium Empire, The Holy Roman Empire, The Spanish Empire, and the British Colonial Empire. Besides, the communist party's human rights violations, could classify them as "Terrorists", making them potential future targets following in Iran and North Korea, if this should happen happens. On the issue of Taiwan and Hong Kong, China probably perceives them as the thriving West Germany, seen from the East. In the future, I hope there can be united china, with its borders expanding to its furthest borders in history, containing the land Mao never took from India and Vietnam, as well as the territory that Jiang Ze Min gave back to Vietnam, and the land seized by the Russians. In this same future, China no longer suffers from the cruelties inflicted by Stalin's doctrines, and the territories will voluntarily join, in order to be part of a glorious future. source

When I was in the army, it was my job to sit at a radio and spy on Chinese transmissions. Not the greatest job, but it allowed me the opportunity to learn the Chinese language, and I'm glad I had the opportunity for that. source

If Cathay is added i could see there being alot of dragon selections in the army. Maybe a rare flying cavalry unit which rides lesser dragons in a similar manner to brettonian Pegasus knights. Also i would imagine that the core of the army would be only infantry blocks. source

I feel that Stas's insights regarding Soviet development are also applicable wrt China too, especially as the CCP's organization efficiency compared to the KMT's internal structure was a major and ultimately necessary asset to improve conditions in China for the long term, not merely enabling the process of achieving a military victory over the KMT. If the KMT could have matched that, not only would have nipped the post-war inflation in the bud but would also have been the victors in the civil war in the first place. source

Take your votes of what you think makes a successful and powerful army. If you ask me, I say the key of a powerful army is weapons. Crossbows and Guns allowed untrained peasants to take down knights with ease. A missile can strike down a target before it gets into firing range. As brave as the Japanese were, they lost to Americans, because they had better guns and tanks. source
