Christmas Decorations

My sister has told me that traditionally, one puts away one's Christmas decorations by January 6th- which is twelve days after Christmas. I was wondering if this is the general rule that people go by? source

I've been there right after Thanksgiving and they are all up by then. I think they start mid November so if you go before Thanksgiving you might see some but I don't know how much. source

You should choose so that you are not bored on Christmas already and still satisfied with the new year atmosphere. For me that period is like 20-25 days from December 15 to like January 10. source

I think it's kinda funny that people put them up a month before Christmas, but don't keep them up a month after. For me personally, I keep them out until New Years and then take them down the following weekend of whenever I have time. Depending on the house and the amounts of light though, I know some people who keep them up all year, they just don't plug them in until the following Christmas. source
