I have an unlocked Cingular Treo 680. Is it safe to upgrade its firmware to 1.09 version? Or shall I wait until there is an unlocked version upgrade out?

Your phone is unlocked it's still a Cingular branded rom drive so you would want to do the update comes out for the unlocked version.

Hi, I received a treo 680 as a gift but it is locked by Cingular but I am going to use with overseas Simcards. How unlocking this nice machine ? Anyone can help with a cheap solution ?

Actually, I tried to call Cingular, explained my case.
It usually takes 1-2 hours to complete.

As with any wireless provider... look at how many minutes you will be using during the peak periods...that is the key to any rate plan with any carrier...compare at the same price point with others... simple comparison...

It appears that "Cellular at Sea" uses essentially a Sat Phone hookup that ALL the onboard users share....
The way you want it to (and the way the company wants) would be to get a Sat Phone and service for the Laptop that would work with that.
