Has anyone used their circular saw to cut metal? I keep seeing blades at the hardware stores that seem to fit them. I dont want to shell out the money just yet to buy a 14" metal saw tool or band saw as it would rarely get used. Im going to cut angle ...

My dad has used a circular saw for cutting metal but for thinner stuff, he says to turn.
Don't ask me what some sparks.
I have cut 3/16 angle iron with a circular saw with a worm gear, no problem.

I understand how to make the guide in the video below, I have a router and a router table.
However, how does he add the rail to the circular saw?

Nylock nuts will secure the track to the base.

Who makes a quality left blade circular saw? I know Bosch and Milwaukee each make one. I think porter cable does too. Other than that, I dont really know of anything.

Hi,
Can a circular saw blade shatter, and how does that happen? I saw a post here that explained that a guy with a HF blade in a craftsman TS shattered the blade. It got me wondering how can this happen.
I have to admit that I haven't been the most careful...

I'm not sure how robust the Makita is but the Festool as with all plunge saw is another saw to consider it's certainly on a par with the the Makita and imho for me the Festool saw as ....
Is the same guide rail as for the saw.

I think most saw blades aren't recommended to rotate more than 7000rpm.
I have seen a 500 or 5000 concrete saw in the past.
Wheel to check the #'s on the 5000.
