We'll arrive in Mexico City from Europe and spend two nights there, before heading to Ixtapa. The internal flights to Zihua seem expensive. Does anyone have any info on the drive - how long does it take? how safe is driving in Mexico?

I understand that the C is more for the urban crowd, but it would be interesting to find out what improvements helped with city and what improvements helped with highway mpg.

Even during the winter some of our highway trips approach the calculated 50 mpg area... .
Aerodynamic benefit is more always get more mpg's highway than city driving.
Weight reduction benefit is more pronounced with city driving.
