Could someone please tell me what sort of precautions need to be taken, if any, to keep your water tank clean to ensure clean drinking water?

The 1st bit of water that was standing in that PVC pipe for some time tap with 12mm black irrigation pipe....
Even if it just passes through the pipe, it has a chemical taste .
Most commonly used is clear PVC big mistake.

Use the spray cans still scrub the Bbl and cylinder with s&w but was lookin for a way to clean the inner frame and 'workins' without gittin water down inside....

Can I use Claire's ear cleaning solution to clean my budgies water tube? I have a water tube for my parakeets and it is sometimes difficult to clean inside the tube, and all I have that I thought could be safe to use to sterilize it is Claire's ear cleaning...

There are little skinny brushes you can buy that will go in the tube - just use warm soapy water.

I have a 90gal, running a few years. I notice when water level is low while taking water out during water change, that a film has developed on the inside of the tank glass.
Can't use chemicals? (if they remain in small amounts despite wipe off before...

I would not use this over an active tank, though .
With vinegar, how long, wipe it on, wipe it off .
Of tap water Ii.e., I assume you don't mean clean with RO/DI but jsut checking].

How exactly do yall do this? Siphon some out into a bucket and dip it and slosh it around in there or take out all your baskets of your canister filter and rub it in the water left in the filter canister? I've done this but it never seems like it does...

The flow gets combination I use the force of the siphon out of the tank to clean mine so when I'm doing a water change I use pads totally clean....
I know its not conventional wisdom, but I clean mine at the sink with tap water.
