That said, you will need to be very prolific with research (and a good heard it's easier to get an academic job... .
If you're primarily interested in research, I'm not sure a clinical program will offer any advantage over a non-clinical one.
NHS Clinical Scientist Recruitment Is anybody else interested in applying for the Clinical Scientist scheme? haven't seen any other threads about it, and thought it might be nice to share application experiences here :)

Greetings, Would anyone happen to know of any top ranked Masters programs in Clinical Psychology with a PhD/thesis track (i.e., that are designed for students who wish to pursue a Clinical PhD after earning a Masters degree)? Prepare* Excuse my typo.

Programs, however--clinical....
Villanova, Wake Forrest, and William on to Ph.D.
Wake Forest and William and Mary the programs mentioned are masters in clinical psychology.
Thesis track (M.S.) in Clinical and Counseling, I think.
Maryland.
