I also don't know how to do it on Turbo Tax, since I just do ours by hand .
I hope I did it right! Typically the interest would not be included on the 1098 that on closing docs.

We have been on the house hunt for about a month. We recently put in an offer on a house in Olympia for 243,000. Our agent says closing costs are going to be around 8-10K, which seems very high to us. Is this typical for this area?

2012 can/will be paid at closing as they are due now.
What is your outstanding balance on the loan currently? it sounds like they are just rolling the costs into the loan. Also, what did your home appraise for? you want to make sure you are below that 80LTV so you don't have to pay any kind of PMI.

At that rate is the new loan balance close to the current balance, or are they rolling the costs into the new loan amount? Be careful when a telemarketer says "no closing costs" as there are ALWAYS costs.
