My 2005 cobalt had a power steering recall in 2010 & got fixed but power steering is out so will they fix it?

A repair in a recall does not give you a lifetime warranty on that part of a car. .

Of course I will check the basics of the wires and associated fuses first; however, a trip to the dealer may be necessary. I stopped to get gas and when I restarted the car, the steering felt totally unassisted and then the error message of "service power...

Power steering is a pretty easy fix, as long as you have a jack and jack stands.

I am sort of looking for a Neon replacement, and I see alot of newer cars have electric steering. And some models have common problems with it.
What happens when you pull the fuse? No added resistance manual steering? Locked steering? Hydraulic steering...

Systems do not have a power steering pump...

IIRC, you pull the fuse for the power steering, and go drive the car around....
Because last summer my friend had a steering problem on his cobalt that sent him into a concrete gears in the power steering assembly.
