Tea/coffee facilities in rooms are certainly not the norm in Italy (nor in many other European booking.com)...but it does not have tea/coffe facilities.

I haven't travelled a distance with them where I wanted a coffee until last Saturday. I was amazed to see the attendant tear the top off a sachet and then charge me £4:40 for two coffees! At that price, I expect PROPER coffee, NOT a Starbucks sachet! ...

Coffee is free there! IIRC they also reduced the cup size.
And coffee/tea on board, I feel like lugging a pic-nic with me sometimes! The best one I ever than sceond on them or anyone else.

I personally don't think best before dates matter much with these products - it is not as if it is fresh meat .
