So awhile back I bought an MS63 slabbed Maryland 1934 coin, and I am wondering if this is a decent investment level coin or if I should try and flip it? I paid $150 for it, but it is my first commemorative coin. What do you guys thing?

Sell it quickly and use that money to keep a coin you would be proud to give to your children or grandchildren.
Being from Maryland myself, I find myself looking...you get the picture.. .
I do like this coin though.
To the going rate.

I'm not talking about making them like the Chinese either. There is certain level of satisfaction in taking a raw coin and submitting it and getting the grade you were hoping for. Most of my PCGS coins are semi-made as in I cracked them from another slab...

I cannot recall one coin that I bought slabbed unless it came in a collection that I bought.
It's not worth the risk, time, effort, and extra cost for me to slab stuff myself.
Buy slabbed.

Is there any way to tell when a TPG graded coin (PCGS specifically) was graded and slabbed? That information is not available from the cert verification page. You can tell a rough idea by the style of slab, but I was hoping for something more specific...

Sorry around with ANACS barcodes, there is a lot of info stored in the code on the slab, a lot more than on the paper insert label.
The slab style is your best bet.
This information is not available from either PCGS nor NGC .

Suspect this might not be an accurate grade?
A true 1943-D MS66FS, slabbed that they had never graded a coin....
Can you show us a photo to help ...
But for sure not of the the top-tier TPG.
Not sure who ANI is ...

I get the point of slabbing graded coins and bullion to preserve their numismatic value.
Beyond numismatics however, does slabbed bullion offer any notable advantages (or disadvantages) to the PM investor over ungraded bullion?
Thoughts?

Is there anything to be concerned about? Could someone use the slab to hide a damaged or counterfeit coin?
IF the price....
And you want the best of the best for your own personal satisfaction...then a slabbed coin might give.

This is a slabbed pcgs "genuine" coin. The "98" in the numbers tell me that it's been improperly cleaned. I don't care about that. I want a grade.
When I slabbed this, pcgs didn't offer a "details" option. I've learned that they do offer that option now...

Crack you coin out of that slab and resubmit keep submitting until you get a real slab.
Your better off in their slab WITH a grade than bogus reason to reject it.
I'd send it to ANACS.
coin that deserves a grade.

Hello--I just started back into collecting and am curious about grading and companies who do it. The only graded coin I have is a 1979 Anthony $1 near date. I bought it quite a few years ago, not sure why, but it looks nice. The slab says it is MS63 and...

Anyone know how to quickly remove cigarette smoke smell from coin sabs? I recently bought a great set of coins in NGC holders but they reek of cigarette smoke. I would love to keep the coins but remove the smoke smell. Thanks.

" LOOK !! GREAT YELLOWISH TONED ....
Layer the bottom of a container with the product, then put the coin(s) in a smaller container that if a coin has plenty of smoke( Nicotine ) on it one could advertize it as having been "toned".
