Passing this on. I bought 2 lanterns from the 80's and 1 had a hard turning on/off valve. The packing in it had deteriated(sp) to a few crumbs. I got some 3/32 graphite rope packing at ACE #4200366 and put it in there. Some excess came out after a couple...

I still have my family's Coleman....
Used to be able to get a conversion kit from Coleman.
It uses pressure by pumping it up on bottles.
You really, really want to only run coleman fuel in it.

Save empties and REFILL Zippo lighter fluid cans with Coleman LIQUID fuel. It's the same thing. Naptha.
If you can find even partial gallon cans of it at a yard sale BUY IT, because it is a hell of a lot cheaper than buying lighter fluid.

I've been looking for some good interior lighting and bought these lanterns to test out , i tried 2--- 190 lumens each (red Coleman lanterns) and then i tried 1 390 lumen (green coleman lantern )
The big green coleman ended up lighting it up very well...
