WW1 Australian Rising Sun collar badges Gday all,
Three WW1 Australian Rising Sun collar badges all different makers(which is not uncommon with these items).
I believe them to be WW1 but as you know they are very hard to I.D.
They came out of Bulgaria...

Here are two Carpathian Lancer collar badges. One silver (pre war silver mark??) with a repaired bottom lug and an ORs collar.

As to value.
The mark is not pre-war as these badges did not exist before WW2.

Unknown Polish badges? I came across this set of badges. Apparently they all came from one individual, and is that possible? I have no thorough knowledge or research books on the topic of PSNZ badges and I have no idea of what most of them represent. ...

The small 'Pomorski' shield badges were worn on the beret.

Just wondering if anyone can reveal anything more about the uniform and badges/ribbons in these photo.
I know the first two are pre-WW1 Austro-Hungarian.
I believe the belt buckle in this first photo is an officer's belt buckle.

First Picture:
Celluloid collar star = gefreiter
The belt buckle is the 1888 model for enlisted to whistle.

One way i did a display cloth badges to it....i guess the poly is good as you can push the lugs into it to sit the badge flat condition, IE, one or two have ....
Will settle on the badges and also it will keep oily fingers away too!.

Somewhere in German war archives to know exactly what he was entitled to wear (including collar tabs he was entitled to wear (including collar tabs and shoulder boards and unit/special insignia).

In a willow oak today with the most burls I have seen in that species. Also "badges", one name for those flat plates; "shields" is another. Seldom see decay noted in either--dozens of burls in this tree, but only 3 had rot.
Seen the shields in other species...

I assumed that the badges were....
I have only seen those badges or shields once before.
Though we can only guess what is under in or near forks, and others on the stem .
The badges on the other hand do not seem associated with wounds.
