I have a simple page with some html. When I hold and drag the mouse to highlight a part of it, for example a paragraph, it changes the forecolor of the text to blue, it does not change the forecolor to white and change the backcolor to blue as it normally...

EDIT: You've added that the background is set to an image, but this would not influence the highlighting at all .
CSS cannot directly influence this; it's a function of the browser .
That is exactly the behavior of selecting an image.

I've noticed that this color is somehow preferred over pure blue or blue-violet. Vista and Windows 2008 have largely adopted this color. Many dating sites seem to prefer this one over blue or violet. Is it so that this color is associated with ocean water...

I'm in the early stage in which the game is teaching me the controls. Yet it's doing so buy telling me to press the boot or the hand or the head.

Well, Red/Green/Blue are fairly easy to identify by inspection; what range of values do you need to support?
The problem is that unless you start with a named color, it is very hard to get back to one; IsNamedColor will return false even....

It's an amazing color....
You just dont see it often enough.
I would do the original color myself.
It's a nice looking color not another Marina blue Chevelle.
I'd go with the Tahoe Turquoise myself.
Mariana blue is so over used.
