Okay so for the N. Hemisphere we get to see these comets on the way to the sun, and on the way out the S. Hemisphere gets to see them? Is that pretty much the rule?

A Cometic should outlast a stock style gasket too.
I've used them 3 times: once on the 8V when I put the 531 on, once on the 16V with the stock head, once with the Heebed 16V head .
Never had an issue with leaking.

It all Ford What year is the Comet? Judging by the headights, I'd venture a guess of 66/67? It will be a sweet little ride with that mill.

How did you check your squish? Here is some good info if you havent already looked at it .

With what you have for your setup a .030 gasket on the calculator would get you around 9.5:1 static .
