That keeps me in Comfrey wouldn't eat it!
Funnily enough, my comfrey doesn't die down that much over winter.
A few lengths of clothes line in an unused carport and I dry it there .

I keep reading that we should apply a 'general balanced fertiliser' or a 'nitrogen rich fertiliser' but I can't think how to do this without uisng blood fish and bone or bonemeal etc. Nor do I want to use MiracleGro etc. For potassium rich feed we have...

Seaweed feed chicken poo.

pellets, skip the paper towels and plant the seed directly into the pellet, pointy side down is preferred nettles, dandelions, kudzu, comfrey, clover, yarrow, chamomile, kelp, ...the list goes on.

Anyone know of good nitrogen sources that don't smell god awful. Chicken manure smells just awful whether its mixed into the medium or in tea. I have high p guano that doesn't smell so I'm assuming the high n guano won't either but I don't have access...

I do share the hay with the rabbits, but tend to give them just little sprigs because they really prefer fresh green stuff and/or pellets, although I feed them rabbit pellets not alfalfa pellets.
