The xbox360 supports 1080p over component for games.
This link provides the official graph of which resolution is supported for which cable type.
Component can only handle a maximum of 1080i, while HDMI can handle 1080p.

Hi!
I recently bought an component cable, so that I could record footage using and Hauppauge HD PVR (normally I use a HDMI cable).
However it looks like I'm unable to configure it. If I have the switch at SD, I can use it normally but only up to 480p....

With the switch on the component cable set to "HDTV", it supports 1080p, which with the yellow, red and white ....
With the switch on the component cable set to "TV/SD" it only support 480p, which is the yellow, red, and white.

Looks like it is a Canon ....
They also have very good quality, Continuum 5, Boris Red 4, Combustion 2008, Sapphire Effects Don't see the cable needed to go with the HVX200.
Comprehensive has just about any cable combo you could dream up.
