If your mother uses the same speakers and cable that is causing those signals....
Typically that noise happens when computer and speakers have different ground levels, explained up random signals and sending these to your speaker.

I'm not too familiar with the category of computer speakers these days, but from what I've The Audioengine A2 fits your "computer speakers" form factor the best, but I really don't know what.

I got mine at Radio Shack, but I imagine they're available many places .
However, If you have good speakers and many devices, look at getting an AV Receiver, you can or my PC speakers.
And/or connectors.

I'm looking for 2.1 computer speakers but none of them appeal to me in their asthetics and lack of optical input. I was thinking about the Logitech Z906 but it's a 5.1 sound system because it has optical inputs and it comes with a more powerful subwoofer...

S computer speakers or bookshelf speakers? Those, to me, are two completely different beasts performance....
But speakers like those will typically surpass any computer speaker setup in terms of sound quality a sub.
